Philippians 2:3-4 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, 4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
If you’ve been through this journey with us, you’ve seen a change in yourself. Maybe you’ve seen or felt God do something new in your life. That’s always the goal, isn’t it. Considering that “all good things come from above”, is there any thing more important in your life than your relationship with the Lord.
I think we forget sometimes that our spiritual life helps our families, too. Yes, it helps that they see the Lord in us and the passion we have to serve Him. Secondly, since we are becoming more like Him, our capacity to love them is greater, and we have greater wisdom is knowing how to meet their needs. Fasting can actually be a family thing.
But since this journey for us is ending, I have an idea. Why not go outside your regular people and do something nice for someone else? Why not look across the room to someone who should receive the honor and buy their meal. Or, call someone who would love to hear from you. Do it as a celebration for your victory in this years fast.
Prayer: Thank you Lord for helping me through this time. Thank you for blessing me with the strength to make the commitment necessary to start and finish this journey. Now Lord help me to see a way to please you by helping some one else.
